So what? We can’t do it too?
Now, this is another one of those things that is chapping my butt in these days. Somehow, Rep. Paul Broun must apologize for comparing comments made by President-Elect Obama to events that occurred in Nazi-Germany and the Marxist Soviet Union.
Of course the statements got spun into saying that Broun called Obama Hitler.
And why does this bother me? Nowhere did I see apologies from organizations such as moveon.org (but certainly not the only one) for directly comparing President George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler. This blatent display of a double-standard disturbs me and irritates me. It almost ranks up there with how race is handled in this country.
Feel lucky that neither person actually is anything like Hitler. Do you see either man wanting the mass extinction of any ethnicity? Nope. Argue all you want, no evidence is there. Be thankful. And lets just say that the seemingly-blind support of some for Obama can be likened to that of the support for Hitler prior to WWII. Obama IS NOT Hitler, nor will he ever be.
There is nothing wrong with comparing one person to another. It helps keep everything in perspective. It’s when you directly call someone something, that’s where it gets a little tricky. Such was those who called Bush “Hitler.”
Where are the apologies for that?
