We have arrived at the super majority, folks.  Yesterday, the last hotly contested Senate race was finally conceited giving the Democrats a filibuster proof majority.

I honestly don’t know what is worse though: a super majority in the US Senate, or Al Franken being a US Senator.

Leave aside the fact that I have heard nothing but negative connotations used to describe the man that is Al Franken… no let’s not.  He’s pretty nasty.  Not only is he just not funny, but he reminds me a lot of Perez Hilton in his demeanor: generally miserable and unhappy.  This isn’t just my personal opinion.  I have read, heard, and have been told that this is the general impression this man leaves behind.

And now he helps design laws to govern this nation.  Aren’t we a lucky bunch?

Onto the other issue though, it is never a good thing to have a super majority.  I don’t care whether it is the Democrats or the GOP that owns it.  Think about if the Republican controlled Congress at the beginning of the Bush administration had a super majority.  They already enjoyed spending as it was.

About the only saving grace we have at the moment is that the Supreme Court currently is leaning towards the right.  If the court leaned left, we would be in some serious trouble.  Already we are under threat of having Cap and Trade become lawObama’s Healthcare plan also looms.  Each have with it an enormous price tag attached.

Aren’t we in the general public taxed or financially burdened enough?  And I don’t know about anyone else, but I already like my health insurance.  And I certainly don’t want to see industry pack up and leave as their carbon levels (which by the way: carbon dioxide is a byproduct of cleaning the air of other dangerous pollutants) are being restricted causing huge financial burdens to curb those levels and revamp processes.

Currently, world governments are either being protested, or they are beginning to lean to the right.  Even China is opening to industry and more lenient oversight to business.  Yet, here in the US we are seeing an ever-fattening government, even as polls are indicating growing contempt and displeasure.

Even Pelosi is less popular than Cheney.  That’s when you know it’s bad.

So keep your fingers crossed that this new-found majority keeps itself in check.
